Ripped into the headlines....write about something that happened over the weekend as if it was a headline in the local paper...
Girl Goes Walking Sunday Morning
Misty Bishop went walking at a park near her house relatively early Sunday morning. She brought with her headphones and her iPod, plus a water bottle, which she drained.
She started walking the opposite direction than she had taken on other walks. "It felt wrong," she tells this reporter, "as soon as I had a chance, I changed my course to go the 'right way' ."
She also shared with me that she changed up her course and went all the way up the walk way and went around the community center. "I was hesitant at first, because I didn't know how far up the walkway went, but I figure ill never know if I don't try." And try she did.
"One thing that this current walk has taught me, I do have a decent playlist on my iPod, I only had to skip past a few songs, and that's really only because they were not upbeat enough for me in the moment."
Another thing she learned was the importance of good socks. "My day to day calf high socks with crazy designs are not the best for walks, the fall down, and that's a hassle, plus, they draw attention to me, and I don't like that."
There were two soccer games taking place at the park that morning, and Misty admits to watching as she neared them. At one point, she considered sitting down and watching them, "the biggest reason I didn't was because I was out of water, and it was getting warmer."
Though she didn't met her goal this morning, which was to reach her 8500 steps, and have her Fitbit go off, (which she admits is a very good incentive to walk as much as she sets out to) she did get four of her five lights lit up, and that day, she did make her goal and more, over 15,00 steps that day!
All in all, as long as the weather cooperates, she enjoys her walks, morning and evening
Thanks for reading
