 A Look From The Outside
Write about six unique and interesting things about yourself.
Well, for one, in this day and age, I can crochet. I'm not great at it, I know a few stitches, and I am wanting (but not really doing anything about it) to learn new stitches. That is somewhat unique, I guess if you went to a craft store and did a survey, not so much, but ask 100 women my age "on the street" and survey says... XXX - so that is one.

I used to live in Belgium. I don't remember much, but I am Face Book friends with several of the people I used to know there, including my old babysitter - Anne Marie (I swear I didn't name my girls after her! But yay for happy coincidences!) I have (I think) found my old house on Google Earth, and I would like to go back there someday, but I am realistic about the chances of that actually happening. So, that's two then, isn't it?

I have all of the Harry Potter audio books on my iPad. I think that just makes me a nerd? But again, take a survey, I bet it's not as prevalent as you might think. I have the Hunger Games series too. So that's three...

I have lived in the following places and survived the following natural disasters:
Hawaii - Tsunami (ok, it was only 18 inches, and I lived pretty much in the middle of the island, but still...it's a thing). I liked living there for a while, but then the realization that you could not escape was a curse. Still, Cara was born there, so that's good!

On the boarder of Kentucky and Tennessee - also known by those in the area as Tuck-a-see.  - F-3 Tornado. The tornado took part of the roof off the school and hotel on post, and it turned the gate guard shack upside down, with the guard still in it. :(
I actually liked it there, for the most part, but that had more to do with the people, and the experiences associated with that time in my life. Robert was born there, on the Tennessee side, we lived on the Kentucky side, I used to joke that I had to leave the state to give birth to him, like it was some big hardship, when the truth is; he was the easiest to birth :)

Ft. Eustis, Virginia - Hurricane Isabelle
Again, she didn't hit that hard, and we lived pretty well inland, however, there was a lot of debris to clean up after wards, and we had no power for almost 8 days. We lived like cavemen... Grilling every morning to make coffee for the neighborhood. Grilling all of the food in our freezers among the neighbors... It was hard. There was one day, wow; I can't believe I am going to write about this... All the kids were bored and annoying the parents... I, I, I set up a small TV/VCR in my new van and plugged it into the power so they could watch TV. Oh, man, someday 'they' will write about the hardships off that week. Actually, the thing that sucked the most was not having cold drinks. It's the little things. We drove to Norfolk to get ice, there was none, but we did find sodas in the refrigerator section. I actually slept through most of the actual hurricane. I was still on pain meds from my gastric bypass surgery.

Albuquerque - I have lived here most of my life, off and on. From 1982 to 1993, then back in 2003. This is where I had my first baby - Marie - who decided that the name we gave her wasn't good enough and changed it...just kidding, the natural disaster I survived here? Besides my ex-husband? There have been a few small earthquakes in the state that we could feel. Heck, when I was 9, or so, there was a tornado warning in town, which was really odd, since we live in the dome of silence.
So, the places I have lived, that's four.

Let's see...two more? Does - I have a stripper name, but am not a stripper - count? No, ok.

Ummm, almost to work, I'll have to finish this later. Oh, I blog on the bus... Not as unique as it sounds, but survey this bus, I bet NO ONE else on this bus is blogging.

Last, but not least, I am a Whovian. Not as unique, again, as it sounds, but I have a T.A.R.D.I.S. door… I also have a faux leather floor. I have a unique home design / project panache! I am sure that I am not the only one; obviously I have to have gotten a spark from somewhere, but… I am the only one that I know that has these things going on! So, there you are, Bob's Your Uncle… Six unique things about me…

Thanks for reading
