A House Divided
Pick a divisive issue currently in the news. Write a two-part post in which you take on two personas and approach the topic from both sides. Bonus points for a creative format (roundtable discussion, debate transcript, etc).

The Star Gate that was discovers in Iraq is the reason that we went to war with Iraq:
It is obvious that is true because our soldiers spend so much time and effort getting to the museum that it was thought to be stored in. Also, if oil was the reason that we went to war with Iraq, then why haven't gas prices gone down?
There have been so many sudden technological advances in areas where Star Gates have been found, and that is true of this gate as well. The only reason that we are not seeing the same advances is that the government cannot be so flippant about using those advances. They have to be careful with how they present them, otherwise people will get wise. Plus, being the government, I am sure that they are selling these new technologies to the highest bidder to present as their own. It won't be long before there is another batch of advancements that can only be attributed to alien civilizations.

What I worry about is what we are going to do to those indigenous people the government visits. We all know what they do when they want something. Hey, aliens, don't take the blankets they give you...

Counterpoint: The Star Gate is NOT the reason we went to war with Iraq. I can say this because -

Do you believe in reincarnation? That is a tough one, but very funny that it is 'assigned' on the anniversary of my first marriage... I think that there are different versions of things all through life, stages. So, there are different stages of relationships, the honeymoon, the comfort zone, and finally, using the toilet with the door open... For example. Why can't there be different phases or stages of life? Once a scrounger, always a scrounger

Robert's last day of freshman year is next a Wednesday, that alone is crazy, but it made me remember something. The last day of my freshman year, I actually wanted to go to school. I said good bye to the teachers I liked, but after that, a friend of mine and I went through the halls, and came upon tons of lockers that people had not bothered to clean out... So there were binders and paper and more all over for the taking. I remember lots of loose leaf paper, and I took home as much as I could carry. Now, was that because I am, at heart, a scrounger? Or was it my love of school and office supplies? When I was in 6th grade, same thing, went to the last day, and came home with 'stuff'. However, this time it was supplies AND art projects people had not taken home, including GIANT dice.
